American University of Rome Joins SIS Abroad!

SIS is pleased to welcome the American University of Rome (AUR) as a global partner. Founded in 1969, AUR offers a rich educational experience from a wide range of highly qualified faculty with research, policy and professional experience in Rome, the historical crossroads of the European, Middle East, and North African region. AUR is also home to students from other 60 countries with 28 different native languages spoken on campus.

AUR offers three different MA’s, including Peace Studies and Sustainable Cultural Heritage, which offers a tremendous opportunity for SIS graduate students to engage with and address some of the most important topics of our time. Courses offered include “Religion and Empires,” “Political Economy of Peace and War,” and “Cultural Heritage, Conflict and Peacebuilding.”

AUR offers many opportunities to make the most of your semester such as an International Relations club that offers movie nights, fundraisers and debates. AUR also offers multiple volunteer opportunities and social activities including cooking lessons, and weekend trips across Italy!

AU Rome offers unparalleled access to regional experts and immersive learning opportunities. As the home of many multinational, political, humanitarian, religious, cultural, and research intuitions, Rome is the ideal location for SIS students to explore conflict resolution, interreligious and intercultural dialogue, and cultural heritage preservation all while experiencing the rich cultural opportunities and historical legacies of this ancient city.

Consider a semester abroad at the American University of Rome starting in fall 2021!
